Since more than seven million people visit Versailles every year, it’s worth coming outside peak hours—for example, right after opening at 9 a.m. Some days are busier than others, particularly Sundays and Tuesdays, as many Parisian museums are closed on those days.
Winter is also a lovely time to discover a quieter Versailles, bathed in a different, more subtle light.
